NSFW (or Not Safe For Work) is an abbreviation (Internet slang) that is used to label content (text, images, videos, and links) that would be embarrassing if watched in a public environment (at home, at work, or school).

NSFW-marked items may be sexual, sexually suggestive, profane, or show extreme violence. This article will teach you how to enable or disable NSFW content on Reddit.

How To Turn Reddit NSFW Content On or Off

If you want to consume NSFW content (it's okay, no need to feel ashamed). You should make sure that you watch or read it away from 'the public.' On the flip side, you can disable it and consume what is SFW (Safe for Work) only.

Since Reddit is available on both the app and the web, this article will provide you with enabling/disabling steps on both platforms. The steps should work whether you're using an iPhone, an iPad, an Android, a Mac, a Linux, or a Windows PC.

Enabling and Disabling Reddit NSFW on Desktop

  • Visit https://old.reddit.com/prefs/
  • Ensure you are logged in.
  • Turn on the option "I am over eighteen years old and willing to view adult content," scroll down to the bottom, and click the save options button.
  • Turn on the option "Include not safe for work (NSFW) search results in searches," scroll down to the bottom and click the Save Options button

If you're not 18 and over, it is safe to stay away from all this NSFW thing.

  • Once this is done, you will realize that the 'Blur NSFW Images' button gets activated too. If you wish to see the NSFW image clearly, tap the button and turn it off.

NSFW content will appear on your Reddit timeline, and images will show clearly.
