The new report came from a source of Taiwan-based supply chain makers regarding the upcoming iPad Air 3. It seems that device will have a 4K display resolution as it was quoted by Patently Apple. They added that the iPad Air 3 will also have RAM up to 4GB, in addition to improved battery life. There will be two companies that will cooperate with Apple in providing the display panel of iPad, those are General Interface Solution and TPK, which will start to produce the part in the second quarter of 2017. Specifically, GIS will be responsible for LCD modules and touch panels along with backlighting products while TPK will supply touch panels.
According to their report, iPad Air 3 will not adopt the 3D Touch technology, but it seems that it will come with 4 speakers technology used on iPad pro, and also LED flash for the rear camera, as it was revealed from the leaked schematic image.
If Apple is going to adopt the 4K resolution on iPad Air 3, it will make iPad Air 3 as the iPad with the highest pixel density. The device will be announced on Apple event in March, together with the other Apple products.
